Proffesional Biography
Mr. Hamby is a construction and homebulding leader with a record increasing organizational profitabilty via his comprhensive operations management experience and focus on delivering the highest quality product. Throughout his carreer, he has provided authoritative team leadership to optimize productivity and efficiency to increase customer satisfaction and significantly reduce costs. Mr. Hamby has also demonstrated his strategic abilities by creating effective businss plans, secruing required captial, conducting maket analysis, and leading negotiations to ensure on time / within budget project succeess. His areas of expertise include financial management / P&L, marketing, key partner development, and land acquisition.
Most recently, Mr. Hamby has been developing Phoenix Contracting, a start-up residential and commercial contracting company in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. As President, he has directed two office renovations and framed 30 unit military housing projects. He has customized some of these projects to includd ultra-green, LEED certified systems, geo-thermal HVAC, de-super heaters, foam inulation, dehumidification / air purifications systems, and photo-volatic solar panels.
Previously, MR. Hamby served as the President and Managing Partner of Panitz Signature Homes, LLC, a private homebuilding start-up with over 20 full-time staff, also located in Ponte Vedra Beach. After leading the Organization’s start-up (including business planing and obtaining $20M in credit), hed drove sales to close an average of 40 homes per year, which achieved annual revenues of $25M with $2.2M in operating profit. Mr. Hamby also led negotiations to acquire over 400 home sites with significant cost reductions. In addition, he directed efforts to optimize tax reductions, reduce cycle-times, and develop strategic relationships with developers, homebuilders, and real estate professionals.
Preceding his successes with Panitz, Mr. Hamby was VP of Jacksonville Operations at Beazer Homes, the Northeast Florida division of a top ten national homebulder. Here, he directed all daily operations to achieve a rough average of 300 closings per year with several million in pre-tax profits. Mr. Hamby also directed initiatives to successfully accommodate the Company’s 20% annual growth, elevate customer satisfaction, achieve compliance with OSHA regulations, and develop effective new leaders.
At Panitz and Company, a volume-builder of entry-level homes, Mr. Hamby served as both Excecutive VP / COO and VP of Construction. During the course of his tenure, he made significat contributions to streamlining daily functions, reducing costs, managing contracts, minimizing timelines, and optimizing revenues.
Mr. Hamby received his BBA in Finance and Banking from the Uiversity of North Florida, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He has an MBA pending from the same institution, and a lengthy record of professinal coursework, including Six Sigma Black Belt. He is also a member of several industry associations, and was selected as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” of Jacksonville business leaders by the Jacksonville Business Journal in 1999.
